Wing Blade
Macon Blade
NEW this Season!
The Sharp Blade
The three main
reasons you should choose the BRACA SPORT Oar:
 | Each pair of oars has
been matched for ''stiffness' and will vary no more than ±0.1 cm |
 | All blades and shafts are
constructed using an U/V protected heat cured toughened epoxy resin to
eliminate fading. |
 | The Braca oar is available in Recreational, Standard
and Ultra-light weight, which enables a rower to match the oar to their needs,
their shell and their water conditions. |
"BRACASPORT" oars have been designed by using the latest composite engineering
technology combined with practical input and feedback from some of the world's
leading oarsmen and oarswomen. All oars are constructed from three separate
component parts: the blade, the shaft and the handle. After those have been
bonded together and checked, the sleeve and button are fitted and the balance
and finally the pitch is set. Completed sculls are then given their final
quality inspection and entered into a computer data base.

|
With
traditional composite blades the exposed foam core on the open edge has
always been vulnerable to damage and the inevitable penetration of water.
BRACA-SPORT' has developed a unique moulding system which not only protects
the internal foam from water penetration, but gives extra strength and
rigidity plus exceptional impact resistance. Because of the unique moulding
system for sealing the blade edges each different type and size of blade has
its own individual 'blade tool'. All meet with an exceed current FISA safety
standards.

Before
assembly the 'stiffness' and the weight of each shaft is checked and
measured. For any one pair of sculls or set of oars, the ''stiffness'
will vary no more than ±0.1 cm.
Each oar and
scull has its own individual serial number with the weight, length, center
of gravity and shaft stiffness all being part of a record in data base.
Exact reproduction of any oar or scull is available at any time.

Weights available:
 |
ULTRA LIGHT (Yellow label) shafts are produced
by using almost 100% pure High Modulus carbon. These shafts have both
maximum lightness and ‘stiffness’. |
 |
STANDARD (Red label) shafts have a lower
carbon content. They are less stiff then the Ultra light and are 20%
heavier. This material combination has the highest possible impact
resistance. |
 |
RECREATIONAL (Green label) still retains
excellent ‘stiffness’ and ‘feel’, even though the carbon content has
been reduced to 40%. They maintain high impact resistance and carry only
a 11% weight premium over the Standard type. |

Adjustable Handles:
The ULTRA-LIGHT, yellow label, and STANDARD, red label, sculls are
manufactured with carbon handles, allowing for easy adjustment to the overall
length.
