Meet the
Model D

Meet the Model D
The latest innovation in wind-resistance rowing from Concept2. In
1981 we introduced the world’s first affordable, durable, smooth
operating rowing machine, which we dubbed the Model A. The success of
this machine led to the Model B in 1986, and the Model C in 1993. We are
now excited to introduce the Model D this August 2003.
The new Model D builds on our 20 years of experience designing and
using rowing machines and incorporates many new features. Highlights of
the new design include
 | New
Performance Monitor, the PM3, with LogCard function |
 | Quieter
flywheel enclosure |
 | New
ergonomically designed handle |
 | Generator
feature provides operating power to the PM3 during use, greatly
extending battery life |
 | Bold new color
scheme and graphics |
The Concept2 Indoor Rower is a
rowing machine designed to offer you high quality exercise for the rest of your
life. Rowing exercises and strengthens both upper and lower body with a motion
that is smooth, rhythmic and impact-free. Its wide range of motion promotes
flexibility in your muscles and joints. The Concept2 Indoor Rower allows you to
row as hard or as easily as you wish, making it an extremely versatile machine
that can be used by people of all ages and fitness levels. You can row for
cross-training, for fitness, for rehabilitation, for weight control, for
competition, for community, for pleasure - and for the rest of your life.
Durability and
Construction
The Concept2 Indoor Rower has been designed to withstand heavy use in
collegiate rowing training rooms and public fitness facilities. Its simple
design and careful engineering combine to keep required maintenance to a
minimum. The monorail is made of extruded aluminum for lightness and strength;
the seat rolls on a stainless steel surface; the handle is made of solid maple
with molded rubber grips; and the seat glides on a roller system designed for
stability and durability.
The
Excellent Feel of the Machine
The Indoor Rower captures the rhythm and feel of rowing on the water by using a
carefully balanced and calibrated flywheel. The resistance you feel in using the
Indoor Rower is the wind resistance generated by the spinning flywheel. With no
brake pads to wear out, and no friction mechanism to generate heat, the flywheel
motion is smooth, long lasting, and maintenance free.

New PM3 Monitor

A good training partner helps you stick with a program and reach
your goals. We’ve designed the PM3 to be the ideal, smart electronic
training partner.
The PM3 is entirely menu-driven, so you don’t have to remember
any complicated button combinations. You can also “Just Row” without
pushing any buttons at all.
The PM3 offers a variety of units and graphic display options
including Force Curve, Paceboat and Bar Chart. You can select from a
library of pre-set workouts that load instantly, or you can even
race against a paceboat using your previously stored result.
With the introduction of the PM3 LogCard, you can now easily and
automatically record your workouts, track your progress and transfer
your workout data to a PC. The “smart”, portable LogCard also allows
you to program and store your own favorite workouts for instant
set-up.
The Model D includes a power generation feature, which greatly
extends the life of the PM3’s batteries (two D batteries) by
providing operating power to the PM3 while you are rowing.
Easy
to Store
The Indoor Rower easily separates into two pieces which can be
stored standing in a closet or corner. Built-in caster wheels make
it easy for one person to move the Indoor Rower.
