Oarmaster II
The Alden Oarmasters are the ideal sculling rigging; easy to transport, adjustable and efficient. The Oarmaster snaps in and out of the hull simply and easily. Once the Oarmaster is removed, the hull is light and easy to carry. The foot stretcher length and oarlock height are adjustable for rowing in different water conditions, and when there is more than one user. All parts are easily replaceable for maintenance and repair. Standard equipment includes open water gate-less oarlocks, molded seat top, extra large heel cups, and teak foot clogs. Concept II gated oarlocks (our preferred choice and highly recommended) and wooden seat top are also available.
The Oarmaster II is Alden's most popular drop in unit. It is designed to use the sleek, wind style rigger found on many racing shells. The wind rigger is stiff and light so energy is not wasted. When you're done rowing, the wing is simple to remove from the base for storage or transportation. The Oarmaster II weights just 18 lbs. and is built using anodized aluminum and stainless steel to resist corrosion.
